In 1940 a cache of bronze and clay containers was unearthed in the coastal region of South Wales known as Gwyr. Each container held an assortment of manuscripts and various artefacts.

The original script was written, for the most part in one of the historical Celtic  tongues, which scholars today would recognise as the Welsh - Cornish - Cumbrian languages. This language was spoken through-out the island of Britain prior to the arrival of the Anglo-Saxon and Norse peoples. Other manuscripts appear to be based on the Gaelic tongue, the language of the Gauls and cunieform scripts, non- European in origin.

The first manuscript informs us that it wishes the whole collection to be known as ‘Y Hiraeth’ - the ‘Longing’. This is divided into two groups of manuscript known as the ‘Constructs of Awareness’ and the ‘Category of Forms.’ The former is concerned with propositions related to linguistic and psychological precursors and the struggle to sustain them. Apart from some brief statements this group remains undisclosed. The ‘Category of Forms’ can at this moment in time, be afforded a degree of disclosure. They are divided into the following.

        1. The Tribune of Tones. These are individuals distinguished by the degree of involvement in the struggle, through physical marks, sentiments, attitudes and by birth signs. The Tones have a single blemish on the left side of the body and fifty percent are inclined to left or mixed laterality. Amongst the active Tones fifty percent are female. What is known from the Parchments of Non-Roisin suggest that females of mature disposition play a decisive part in the struggle. Ninety percent of the Tones are born under nine sun signs and nine signs on the Chinese horoscope. Other astro-signs are indicated,   i.e. . The Lunar cycle, but the precise contribution remains unclear. The above characteristics are not exhaustive.

        2. This category of forms are known as ‘The Cluster of Surfers.’ They pursue sensations , movement and intuitions. Vivid colours, in particular those in the red-green spectrum are often evident in there immediate surroundings, as are sounds in the higher register. It is in spring and autumn around dawn and dusk that the Surfers are at there best. The population of Surfers are known to be substantial.

        3. The category of forms known as The Assembly of Anodynes are few in number. They attempt to govern historical direction and cognitive evolution.

They work in a covert manner and encourage certain belief systems and social structures. Amongst their belongings they conceal a number of objects- a small curtain known as ‘The veil of Concealment’ - a short pace stick of immense strength known as  ‘The Measurement of Deception’ and a magnet known as  ‘Igor Stravinsky’s Bait.’ The Anodynes are with us now.

        4. The last category is known as the ‘Circle of Immortals’.  They have a subtle relationship with the Tones, which waxes and wanes over time and space. The appearance of the Immortals occurs when the Constructs of Awareness are under threat since they are the guardians of the Constructs. Amongst there person they conceal a number of small  objects. There is a mirror of immense magnification known as the ‘Optic Thunder’ - a set of pitch pipes known as ‘Griffs Harmonics’ and the third object which Non Roisin has identified as two lengths of coloured elastic twine known as the Elliptic Spirals of Helix. Other artefacts are also known to be present.

The sinister intrigues which accompany the discovery of the parchments is the theme of this story. The gifted, the eccentric and the extra ordinary all play a part, some with relish others by accident, all fodder to the far side.
